Posted: 08 Jun 2010 04:55 AM PDT Querkraft shows a conceptual strength since the creation of the name until the last doodle at the sketch board. Since the foundation of the firm Jakob Dunkl, Gerd Erhartt and Peter Sappj manage this office and work with great projects in an architecture office that is currently considered the strongest in Vienna.<!--break--> Querkraft was founded in 1998 by four young architects graduated at the Technical University of Vienna that decided to work together. The name "querkraft" (sideways strength), is powerful and carries many different meanings for an office that counts with three architects and their teams, which are considered the strongest from all studios in Vienna. All of this quality can be noticed at their projects, from their first residential projects and alterations, to their most recent work.
The founders architects, that lead this big professional team are Jakob Dunkl, Gerd Erhartt and Peter Sappj. In 2004 the also founder architect Michael Zinner, moved to another city and changed his professional focus to teach architecture. Helmut Ritchter, contemporary architect from Austria, was a big influence for the professional life over at Querdraft, and they show admiration and respect for everything they learned with him. Posted: 08 Jun 2010 04:06 AM PDT Sports such as Skateboarding and Surfing always had this relation with self-expression and lifestyle much closer to art than to sport itself. Today despite the fact that these sports are responsible for a huge industry and a lot of money, they are a culture and the art and design on their boards are one of the ways to express this culture to the world. In this post I selected some surfboard designs that I really like and I also included one that I did myself. I hope you like them and feel free to share links to other designs as well. pylongodjadetree1441master-kiningGar-SurfboardsSwen WagnerS-FlyLobulo DesignDouglas GomesDouglas Gomeskhanage17khanage17gandy88sahramistCarmenmucksoupdreck13khanage17master-kiningmunchairAnd mine: Marcos Torres |
